That is, I don’t want to dilute the posts with political ramblings and personal beliefs. I don’t think that’s a correct approach for something that’s targeted and somewhat established as a technologically based blog.

So, as I’m human, and feel the need to rant and rave about politics, religion, and all other PC-banned subjects, I’m throwing together this little blog. This will be a completely personal, unrestricted collection of thoughts and writings.

For the time being, I’m going to try something a little out of the ordinary with this blog. Basically, there’s no home page. You’ll notice that the domain name is http://ryanlbowen.com - the same as my “social media index”. This isn’t going to change. By going to the homepage, you’ll still see the index - though you will now see an added box with the 5 latest posts from this blog.

Basically, I’m relying on two things to get readers - RSS feeds and search engine traffic. I don’t really see a point to having a main page. The people likely to read this blog are family and friends - and hopefully these will be using RSS readers. Anyone else will hopefully get to the posts through Google, Twitter, or other incoming links.

Still working on the design (as I’ll continue to do when I start writing), and I’m looking for your input. What do you think? Do you like the comments on the right side or not?
